Timed reservation
You reserve a time on Recreation.gov when spots are released. It is first-come, not a random lottery — so there is no official success-rate percentage to show. For Haleakalā sunrise, vehicle reservations are required 3:00–7:00 a.m.; after 7:00 a.m. you can enter without that sunrise reservation.
